Although there are many beautiful places to visit in The Ardennes region, we only visited Vianden. Major tourist attraction is the magnificent Vianden castle, built between the 11th and 14th centuries, but the city is filled with history and different museums. It’s an amazing place to be. Medieval city with narrow streets and castle on top of mountain,it must have been a spectacular view for every visitor back in the day as it is now.

Visited: Victor Hugo museum – Chairlift – Vianden castle – Vianden city history museum – Museum of Caricature and Cartoons
There is also “Indian forest” (not included in Luxembourg card) and Tourist train “Benni”.
Transport: Train & Bus – Take the morning train from Luxembourg, Gare Centrale to Ettelbruck, Gare or to Diekirch, Gare – depending on train. From Ettelbruck, Gare or Diekirch, Gare take the Bus 570 to Vianden, Bréck. Trip takes around an hour or an hour and half depending on the departure time of connecting bus. Return trip – the other way around.
